Urban sketching at the Royal Academy

22 April 2016

It's a cold, grey, damp Saturday, so it must be another USK London meeting! The priority on a day like this is to find somewhere out of the rain and wind, and then draw whatever's in front of you. Here are my drawings, both from the shelter of a doorway in the courtyard of the Royal Academy: one looking south to the roofline (that's not a early/late Christmas tree; just a bay tree that was in front of me), and the other towards the main entrance (still not a Christmas tree). Thanks to Katherine and James for organising the day, and to everyone who came along.
